
Established in 1975 alongside the inception of Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College, Bela, the Department of Social Sciences has grown into a vibrant hub of academic excellence. Offering a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with subjects including Economics, History, Rural Development, Agro Services, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Political Science (started in 2024), the department is committed to providing quality education at an affordable cost.
The department, the largest in the college, boasts a significant student enrollment each year, excelling in sports, cultural activities, and extracurriculars. It maintains a dedicated library with 200 books for student use and hosts the Sapt Sindhu Association, which organizes various activities. With four experienced faculty members, the department fosters multidisciplinary learning, research, and professional development through publications, FDPs, and presentations.
The B.A. program offers 11 optional subjects, including History, Economics, Political Science, and more, preparing students for diverse careers.
