About Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science is committed to transforming the future of young minds in the rural heartland. Established with the goal of making technical education accessible to the kandi region, the department aims to meet the needs of rural students. It began with modest ambitions but has made remarkable progress, evolving to meet today's high aspirations.

Established in 2008 with the introduction of the PGDCA program, the Department of Computer Science has since expanded its offerings and now successfully runs M.Sc. (Information Technology), M.Sc. Lateral Entry (Information Technology), PGDCA, and BCA programs. The department is involved in two interdisciplinary programs: B.Sc. (CS) – Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and B.Voc. (RMIT) – Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Retail and Information Technology.

The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program offered by the department is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The Department is equipped with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, featuring three advanced air-conditioned computer labs and a specialized hardware lab. Students benefit from free internet access in the labs, supported by a 50 Mbps leased line. Additionally, the college boasts nine FTTH connections with speeds of 100 Mbps. Our extensive Wi-Fi coverage spans the entire campus, ensuring seamless connectivity in every corner, beyond just the classrooms.

The Department is staffed by highly qualified regular faculty. It strives to unite researchers, scholars, industry experts, and students to share and explore new ideas in computer science. To support this, the department regularly organizes workshops, industrial visits, seminars, and expert guest lectures to advance both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.

We provide a wide array of co-curricular opportunities that enable students to explore new interests and define their own paths. These activities are not only enjoyable but also crucial for developing vital skills such as organizational abilities, presentation techniques, leadership qualities, and interpersonal communication. Through active participation, students enhance their personal and professional growth while discovering and honing their talents.
