National Seminar on "Recent trends in IT" on 7 Nov2015
A national level seminar on "Recent Trends in IT" was organized by the Department of Computer Science of ASBASJS Memorial College, Bela on 7 November 2015 in the college premises. The chief patrons for this seminar were Bibi Rajbans Kaur (President, Managing Committee), S. Devinder Singh Jattana (Secretary, Managing Committee) and S. Sukhwinder Singh Visky (Manager, Managing Committee). The Chief Coordinator was Principal Prof Surmukh Singh and Coordinator-cum - stage secretary was Ms. Amrita Kaur Sandhu. The seminar consisted of three sessions as follows:
Technical Session I: Recent trends in Natural Language Processing
Dr. Vishal Goyal, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala
Technical Session II: Recent trends in Scheduling in Parallel and Distributed Systems
Prof. Nitin Auluck, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT Ropar
Technical Session III: Paper / Poster Presentation by delegates and quiz of students.
The event was started by lighting the Lamp of Knowledge (Deepshikha). A large number of delegates from near and far colleges had participated in the seminar and presented papers on various topics under the preview of recent trends in IT.
The winners for the paper presentation were Sanjivani (Ist Position), Divya (IInd Position) and Dinesh Soni (IIIrd Position).
Winners of poster presentation in students category was Rupinder Kaur and in staff category was Prof. Mandeep Singh and Prof. Taranjeet Kaur.
Winners of Quiz competition were Rajpreet Kaur (Ist Position), Kulwinder Kaur (IInd Position) and Rekha Rani (IIIrd Position).
